November - Photography Competition Results

Dave Bennion

As winter descends and the weather changes, new plant life and seasonal creatures begin to emerge. Our marvellous photographers have been busy at work entering our November photography competition.

This month’s theme was autumn colours, and with an array of entries covering every facet of our two hundred and fifty-acre site. All entries were truly breath-taking and beautifully captured the outstanding natural beauty of Brockholes.

Our judge had an extremely difficult time choosing from our wonderful thirty-three entries. These photographs are among some of the most beautiful ever entered into the competition. However, after much deliberation Dave Bennion’s Autumn Reflections was chosen as the winner of this month’s competition.

Reflective Autumn

Stephanie Mottershead

In second place is Stephanie Mottershead’s Reflective Autumn. Our judge said: "this photograph offers an awe inspiring view of the wide expanse that is Brockholes. The image also fits the brief perfectly as it illustrates the tapestry of rich colours which are present in the Autumn months in the extensive Brockholes woodland."

Frost Flower

Stephen Oddy

Finally, in third place is Stephen Oddy’s Frost Flower. Our judge loved this image, stating: "this particular image beautifully captures the rapidly changing weather conditions experienced at Brockholes. Moreover, the flowers crystal like state has been captured in a mesmerising fashion as it takes on an almost other worldly appearance."
