Janet Stocks
This month's theme was Woodland Fungi, a chance for our visitors to go on an adventure looking for our weird and wonderful fungi.
With 19 photographs to choose from, our judge had a difficult decision to make, with all images equally brilliant and interesting.

Coming in first place was 'Two Fungi with a Visitor' by Janet Stocks.
Our judge said the photography perfectly summed up the theme.
"This is exactly what you expect fungi to look like, and is a perfect representation of the theme. What is even more brilliant is there are two species of fungi here, one so tiny and thin you can hardly see what it is. A wonderful photograph which truly encapsulates autumn."
Ken Hayes
In second place was Ken Hayes with his photograph 'Turkey Tails'.
"This is a really brilliant photo, showing the different colours and lines within the fungi, and a real transition from summer into autumn with that bright green moss."
Sarah Harold
Rounding off the top three is this lovely image by Sarah Harold, called 'Woodland Fungi.
"I really love this fungi - they have the look of little umbrellas, sheltering from the inevitable October rain. A well presented photograph with a single subject in focus and the rest pulled out of focus. A brilliant photo."

NOVEMBER's competition is currently open and has the theme of Autumn Colours; the trees really are glowing this autumn, so there's plenty of colour to choose from.
The deadline for entries is midnight on 05/12/2019 and the only condition is that your photograph was taken on Brockholes nature reserve. To enter, just email photocomp@lancswt.org.uk or click the link below to use the online application form (a maximum of three photos per person is permitted).
