Previously called The Reedbed Restaurant, The Kestrel Kitchen is still in the process of being refurbished, with window seating and other exciting improvements coming soon. All painting has been completed by our tribe of volunteers and catering staff, and was kindly donated by Crown Decorating Centre, Blackburn.

We have listened to comments made by our visitors in regards to our menu, and have had a full overhaul of the food on offer. We have a large range of vegan meals and cake as well as dairy alternatives for your brews!

The new colour pallet in the Kestrel Kitchen is based on the deep purple of reeds and the beautiful yellow of yellow rattle, dandelions and other yellow wildflowers which brighten up our meadows. Our new ‘cleaning up area’ provides a ‘living wall’ with lots of plants growing on the side, bringing the outside in and giving visitors a sense of nature while enjoying their meal.

As a new installation, we now have a dedicated ice cream cabin, serving delicious, luxury, Wallings Ice Cream in a variety of different flavours. Visitors are able to vote for a flavour to be the Flavour of the Month by voting on our social media channels. We always have at least one dairy free and vegan option in stock, so everyone can enjoy a treat!

In the foyer of the Kitchen, you will find our new Memory Tree. This stunning brass sculpture is to be filled with leaves in bronze, silver or gold, to remember a person or occasion which holds some sentimentality with Brockholes, or the wider Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

There are so many new additions to our catering area, we can’t wait to hear your thoughts! Please let us know what you think by leaving us reviews on Facebook or on Trip Advisor, and we hope you enjoy your visit to the all-new Kestrel Kitchen.
