Xplorer Challenge

Date: Saturday 21 July – Sunday 2 September
Time: 10am – 4pm
Cost: £3 per map pack

Explore Brockholes, find the markers, complete the challenge and have fun together! Brought to you in partnership with British Orienteering, Xplorer is the perfect outdoor activity to get the whole family outside in the fresh air together! Try the pram-friendly course on an easy circular route, or take the challenging course that helps you explore the whole reserve. No need to book; just pick up your map pack from the Welcome Centre located on our floating Visitor Village from 10am – 12pm and from 1pm – 4pm. Map packs include a map, an answer sheet, a Brockholes pencil and on completion, a certificate, sticker and a sweet treat!

The Silent Island End of Term Disco

Date: Sunday 22 July
Time: 3:30pm – 5pm (last entry is 3:30pm)
Cost: £6.75 per person

This is the only way to celebrate the start of the summer holidays! Our Kids Social are back at Brockholes to celebrate the end of term in style! Bring your tribe along to join us as we go back to the island for a super Sunday afternoon packed to the brim with family fun. Enjoy dancefloor themed arts and crafts, fancy dress-up and family photo frame, dancefloor props and bubbles, festival face painting and, of course, the infamous two channel Silent Disco – will it be kids’ pop or adults’ guilty pleasures that get your vote? Brave the challenge bag of dancefloor tasks – how low can you go under the limbo stick? Do you know all the moves to Superman? Can you hi-5 everyone on the island? We can’t wait to find out! Enjoy an environmental activity, snack time in the woodland (included in ticket) and an opportunity for play and discovery! Children must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket. Outdoor Theatre: Pride and Prejudice

Date: Sunday 5 August
Time: 5pm – 8:30pm (last entry is 6pm)

Join Heartbreak, the Bennet sisters, and a host of charming young bachelors (yes, Mr Darcy will be there) for an evening of comedy, romance, and more than one come-uppance, as we learn how to behave, ahem, properly. Champagne and cucumber sandwiches are permitted at this outdoor adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, but do ensure you know how to properly use a napkin, remember to chew with your mouths closed, and please try not to fall in love with Mr Darcy, as we believe he is very soon to be engaged. (You may also want to bring a blanket or chair to sit on and an umbrella, should the weather look inclement). Children must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket. The production is recommended for children aged 8+.

Outdoor Theatre: Pirate Pearl and the Big Blue Monster

Ahoy there, land lubbers – hop aboard the good ship Mirabel and join our rollicking adventures on the high seas! Pirate Pearl lives with her crusty old crew, Barnacle the dog and Mr Puskins the cat. One day, Pearl finds a stowaway on-board the ship. It’s a baby monster, but, if you feed a baby monster, it grows into a BIG, CLUMSY MONSTER! Will baby monster ever find his mummy or will Pearl be stuck with smelly bums and stinky nappies FOREVER?! Find out during a fun-packed performance with songs, puppets and live music that will have you singing along, dancing in the aisles and laughing till your sides split. Please note that this is an outdoor performance and will still go ahead in the event of rain. You’re welcome to bring a chair or blanket!
