The acclaimed Heartbreak Productions return to Brockholes this summer with three fantastic performances that are sure to wow all who attend.

NORTHANGER ABBEY
Sunday 6 August
Gates open 4pm, performance starts at 5pm

When an ordinary young lady is whisked away from her ordinary village home to make her entrance into society in bustling Bath, she is suddenly living out the fantasy life her favourite novelists wrote about. However, one shouldn’t believe everything one reads…should one?

Faux friendships and real romance help to define this as a Jane Austen classic. Social commentary, humour and parody ensure that Heartbreak Production’s outdoor performance of Northanger Abbey will be the perfect summer evening’s entertainment. Recommended for ages 8+, with a running time of 2 hours (plus a 30 minute interval).

This adaptation of the David Walliams’ popular tale is recommended for ages 7+, with a running time of 2 hours (including a 30 minute interval).

SECRET GARDEN
Thursday 17 August
Gates open 3.30pm, performance starts at 4.30pm

Orphaned by a cholera outbreak in India, Mary is placed under the care of her grief-stricken uncle in the Yorkshire moors. Aided by the staff, Mary begins to blossom; finding solace by tending to the gardens…

When she comes across a secret garden locked and left to grow wild, Mary is determined to get access but in doing so she will uncover a lot more than an over grown patch of land – where are those mysterious cries coming from? Why is the garden locked?

This version of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic children’s tale demonstrates all that is good about friendship and promises to add a touch of magic to your summer’s evening! The performance is suitable for ages 6+ and the running time is 2 hours (including a 30 minute interval)
