August is a fantastic time of year to see all creatures great and small whilst out and about exploring nature. This month we wanted to pay close attention to two species in particular, the incredible dragonflies and damselflies. Often found near large bodies of water, hovering on the surface, these incredible creatures are simply stunning to look at and are easily recognisable.   

The entries we received this month were incredible! Unfortunately, our judges can only pick one winner, a task that was extremely difficult this month as we received so many amazing entries that captured the theme perfectly. However, there can be only one winner.

We are pleased to announce that the winner for August’s photography competition is… Andrew Bradley!

September’s competition is currently open and has the theme of ‘Local Landscapes’. As per 2021 rule changes, photographs can be taken anywhere in the Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside region and are not limited to Lancashire Wildlife Trust nature reserves.
